Student Health has a Chaperone Policy in place for all sensitive exams. The purpose of this policy is to provide a consistent, standard, safe and caring environment within Temple Student Health Services (SHS). A chaperone is another person present to provide observation, safety for all parties involved during the medical evaluation, and insure professional boundaries and ethical conduct during the examination or procedure. There can be physical, psychological, and cultural reasons why chaperones may be requested or needed. This policy promotes respect for patient dignity and the professional nature of a sensitive examination or procedure.
