Getting Test Results

During your visit, you can discuss with your healthcare provider how you will be notified of test results. Make sure you give your current contact information (especially your cell phone number) to the administrator at check-in.

For most testing for sexually transmitted infections, the office has a “no news is good news” policy. Most sexually transmitted infection test results are available in one week. Pap test results are available in two to three weeks.

If a test is abnormal, you will be notified by a phone call. You may also receive an online message from Student Health Services. Mailed letters are sent with Pap test results.

Routine email is not used to give results.

If the office is unable to contact you about an abnormal test result, your contact information listed in Banner may be used to reach you. Every effort is made by the office to maintain your confidentiality.
